Funding

About NDIS Funding for SIL Relocations

Whether a SIL relocation or related supports can be funded depends on the individual participant's NDIS plan and circumstances. We do not determine funding eligibility on a participant's behalf.

Depends on the plan Confirm with plan manager or NDIA

We recommend confirming eligibility with the participant's plan manager, support coordinator or SIL provider before booking a move.

FAQs

Questions About SIL Relocations

Do you work directly with SIL providers?
Yes. We liaise directly with SIL providers, house leaders and support coordinators to plan and schedule the move.
Can you coordinate a move into a new SIL home?
Yes. We manage relocations into, out of and between SIL homes, including property preparation and utility connections at the new home.
How do you handle shared vs individual belongings?
We work with the SIL provider and participant beforehand to clearly identify and separately manage shared household items and individual belongings.
Is a SIL relocation automatically funded by the NDIS?
No. Whether funding applies depends on the participant's individual plan and circumstances. We recommend confirming this with the plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIA.
What areas do you service?
We coordinate SIL relocations across Australia, including interstate moves.

SIL relocations

Start a SIL relocation assessment

Tell us which home the participant is moving into or out of, the dates you are working to and who else is affected. We will assess it and come back with an itemised scope for the provider and the plan.

  • This tells us which coordinator should call you back.
  • Helpful details: your rough dates, property type and number of bedrooms, stairs or lift access, anything needing special handling, and who else needs to be kept informed (family, support coordinator, plan manager, agent).

What we will ask about a SIL move

  • The home the participant is leaving and the home they are moving into
  • Whether shared or common areas are involved, and what belongs to the participant
  • Roster and staffing considerations on move day
  • Equipment that must stay in service, and clearances in the new room
  • Housemates or co-residents whose routines need to be worked around
  • Who approves the quotation — provider, plan manager or participant
Funding — an honest answerWhether NDIS funding can contribute towards relocation costs depends on the participant’s plan and their individual circumstances. We do not tell people their move is funded. We provide an itemised quotation so the relevant lines can be discussed with a support coordinator, plan manager or the NDIA before anything is booked.
